Today's feature is brought to us by Casey. Here is what Casey had to say about the vintage circus themed 1st birthday party they she threw for her adorable baby girl, Lolly Jo.
It was a perfect fall day. We had about 50 people, including kids of all ages, and wanted to make sure everyone had a great time. We had face painting by Paige, who made every child look unique and feel special. We also had a moon jump that the kids enjoyed the entire time.
When you stepped inside the tent we had cotton candy on display in clown themed bags. I rented white table linens and used different fabrics to help add a splash of color to every table. I rented a cotton candy machine the day before and bagged about 60 bags of pink and blue cotton candy. It was one of my favorite details to help complete the Circus theme….and it was just as great to see even the adults walking around enjoying it.
Lolly's cake was a wonky style cake with the same circus patterns and primary colors you would expect from a circus. Her smash cake was made with a custom elephant topper with the perfect little bow to complete a girly look. We used the mason jars with cupcake liners and paper straws for our guests drinks. The kids LOVED picking their jars, and it also made it easy for them to remember which jar was theirs…. since it seemed no two were alike.
We had it planned that at 3:00 the kids would be surprised by the sound of an ice cream truck…..and they were. The ice cream truck pulled up under the tree in our front yard and the kids ran out of the moon bounce straight for the truck. The looks on their faces when they found out the ice crane was "free" was adorable. Even the parents indulged. We wrapped up the party with a pinata. The ice cream truck's music continued to play while the kids filled there chevron treat.
I enjoyed watching the kids with their painted faces, ice cream spotted shirts and clown noses leave the party with big smiles and cute bags filled with goodies. 1st birthdays are always my favorite. We are surrounded by so much family and friends and I feel like this party truly had something for everyone.
