I first "met" Suzanne from SHE Paperie several years ago, when she asked me to collaborate with her on a giveaway for her shop's 1st birthday! Suzanne was such a doll to work with, and was so appreciative of the goodies we sent her way. We kept in touch and several months later realized that we were both headed to Salt Lake City for the Alt Summit - solo! It can be a little intimidating to be at such a event all alone, so we found ourselves huddled together quite often, chatting and giggling between breakout sessions and keynote speakers.
When I started thinking about heading to ALT again this past year, this time with our social media gal extraordinaire, Stevie - I knew we needed some amazing business cards. And I knew just the gal to design them for me. I had seen Suzanne's own business cards before and loved the die-cut shape of them. Since we have such an unusual logo, I though it would be fun to use the shape of the design as the card itself. We spent literally weeks going back and forth over tiny little things - Suzanne's attention to detail is impeccable. We decided to have a custom die made in the shape of our logo, and print a separate 'backer card' with grey polka dots to give the cards a little oomph. We packaged them in a glassine envelope with an assortment of sequins and sealed them up with glittery washi tape. I wanted each card to be like opening a little gift, so we had some temporary tattoos made up to look like confetti, and stuck one inside each package. We were absolutely thrilled with the results.
I was so happy with the cards that I thought it would be wonderful for Suzanne to design a line of fill-ins for the shop. She pored over the site for months, making notes of her favorite products and color combinations and set to designing. When she first came to me with her initial concepts, she had 6 gorgeous designs. Since we didn't sell any invitations at the time, I didn't know what our customers would be looking for, so we decided to go with just four designs, but in two colorways each. Suzanne made some final adjustments and sent them off to print!
A couple months later, two hefty boxes arrived at our warehouse - each containing dozens of artfully packaged invitation sets. Suzanne spared no minor detail when she packed these babies up - each set is wrapped in a clear envelope sprinkled with a little confetti, and tied up with twine. A lovely presentation for some perfectly darling invitations that are exclusive to Shop Sweet Lulu.
